Getting Stoked On Family Time With Boosted

boosted board

It’s pretty easy to get stoked on family time when you’re cruising through your neighborhood on a BOOSTED board. For Father’s Day, we asked some of the rad dads of Boosted, Inc.  how they like to spend to spend QT with the most important people in their lives.

Mike McHugh, Director of CX and Product Marketing Boosted Inc

How do you spend time with your family on Boosted boards?

We rip (wearing helmets, of course!) but we love to rip on our boards! My son and I love to just get out and ride around the neighborhood together.

Where’s your favorite place to ride together?

Devil’s Slide in Pacifica, California.

How has having a BOOSTED board given you more quality time with your family?

Well, it’s time to share together that gives you fun stories to tell around the dinner table. It’s also a time to share the feeling of having huge grins on your face for hours at a time.

What board do you ride? What does everyone else ride? Is there a reason?

Mini X or a Stealth. My son rides Mini S. because he likes how lightweight it is I like the speed and the “old man” comfort of Stealth.

How are you going to spend this Father’s Day?

I’ll be in Berlin, so I won’t be with my family, unfortunately. But, I’ll be speaking at a Boosted event talking about urban mobility..

What’s your favorite dad joke? (Don’t lie).

Q: What do you call a one-eyed dinosaur?

A: Doyouthinkhesaurus.

Q: Dad, are we pyromaniacs?

A: Yes we arson.

How do you spend time with your family on Boosted boards?

Well, I’m lucky that my daughter, Rayley, is a summer intern on the service team at BOOSTED, so we usually do some fun product testing together—like taking the new BOOSTED Rev along the Bay Trail in Mountain View.

Where’s your favorite place to ride together?

Our go-to is on the Livermore, California bike paths, especially the ones through the vineyards near our house.

How has having a Boosted board given you more quality time with your family?

It’s something fun to do that we can all do at the same speed and it gets us out and into our community.

What board do you ride? What does everyone else ride? Is there a reason?

Mhm, we all ride on V1s. I’ve been at Boosted for 4 years and these are what was available when I started. They are still going strong!

How are you going to spend this Father’s Day?

Well, it looks like I’m going to be in  China to qualify production plastic parts for Boosted Rev.

What’s your favorite dad joke? (Don’t lie).

Can’t say that I know of any?

^That’s an unintentional dad joke if we’ve ever seen one.

How do you spend time with your family on Boosted boards?

My son Kai just turned 1, so he is still a little too young to ride a board on his own. That being said he is super curious to watch me riding around in the driveway, and he loves to play with the board remote (mostly to chew on it) when he can manage to get his hands on one! Since I am an engineer and tinkerer at heart, on a few occasions I have jerry-rigged up a setup so that he can “ride” a board while in his car seat or in a laundry basket (of course being super careful while doing so). I’m sure that Kai is going to be super stoked to ride BOOSTED products as soon as he is old enough to.on his own.

How has having a BOOSTED board given you more quality time with your family?

Riding Boosted products has given us yet another excuse to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. When we get a short breather while someone else watches little Kai, it also is a fun activity for my wife, Aya, and I to ride together around the neighborhood for a nice break.

What board do you ride? Is there a reason?

All of them — V2, V3 Stealth, Boosted Mini, and trying some testing of the Rev these days, too! But, my favorites are the longboards since I’m a snowboarder at heart. Riding Boosted Stealth gives me my snowboarder carving fix, but I can do it on roads almost anywhere and in any season (no snow required!).

How are you going to spend this Father’s Day?

I will probably get outdoors for a hike with my wife and Kai.

What’s your favorite dad joke? (Don’t lie).

Whenever we make pizza for dinner at home and my wife Aya asks “How many pieces should I cut it into—six or eight?” I always say, “You better only make it six, I don’t think I can eat eight.”
